Newspaper Crafts: Pompom


Newspaper pompoms can be used in sports drill or other fun activities. Young kids love to play with pompoms. Let’s make a newspaper pompom
For this you will need the following:
Materials:
·        Newspaper
·        Transparent tape
Tools:
·        Scissors

Method:
Step 1:     
    
           Take a full length newspaper.
Step 2:


          Fold it into half in the long way, crease it and unfold it.
Step 3:
                    

           Now fold it two to three times width wise.

Step 4:
                  
          Cut out stripes on half of the paper with scissors in such a way that it doesn't  cross the creased line.
Step 5:


          Roll the uncut side of the paper and tape it.
Final outcome:


          The pompom is ready to be used.

Christmas Crafts: Candy Cone

Make a Christmas tree with circle cutouts.  I like to make Christmas crafts that are easy for toddlers to do.
To make this Candy cone craft you will need the following:
Materials:
·         Construction paper 
·         Ribbon
·         Both sided tape
·         Glue
·         Stickers
Tools:
Pencil
Scissors
Compass or hole- puncher
Method:
1.      Draw a half circle of 12 inches diameter on a piece of construction paper.

2.      Cut out the half circle and roll it into a cone. Tape the cone together.

3.      Cut a piece of colored ribbon for a hanger.

4.      With the compass, punch holes on the opposite sides of the cone.

5.      Pull the ribbon through the holes and tie knots on both the ends.

6.      Decorate the candy cone with stickers.

You can make this Christmas craft with your kids. Have a wonderful time!

Christmas Crafts: Snowflakes Hanging

Make a Christmas Snowflakes decoration using crape paper.  I like to make Christmas crafts that are easy for toddlers to do.
For this Christmas Snowflakes craft you will need the following:
Materials:
·         Ice- cream sticks – 9 pieces
·         Colour – Light blue or dark blue
·         Glue
·         Ribbon
·         Glitter and sequins
Tools:
Scissors
Method:
1.      Colour the ice- cream sticks with blue colour.
2.      Glue three ice-cream sticks in the following way and let it dry.
3.      Cut 12 small pieces from the remaining ice- cream sticks keeping the rounded side of the stick intact.
4.      Stick 2 small ice- cream stick pieces on the edge of the long ice- cream sticks.
5.      Decorate with sequins and glitter.
6.      Finally, glue the ribbon at the back side of the snowflakes for hanging.

Christmas Crafts: Tissue paper bell

Make a Christmas wreath using crape paper.  I like to make Christmas crafts that are easy for toddlers to do.
To make this Christmas tissue bell craft you will need the following:
Materials:
·         Colored tissue papers
·         Construction paper
·         Ribbon

Tools:
Pencil
Scissors
Stapler
Method:
1.      Draw the design on the construction paper. Be sure the straight edge of the design is exactly on the fold.
2.      Cut out the pattern and unfold.
3.      Place 16 pieces of tissue paper under the construction paper and staple along the fold. Don’t staple the very top. Later you will have to punch a hole here.
4.      Cut the tissue out so that it is similar to the construction paper.

5.      Punch a hole in the top and thread ribbon through. Make a loop for hanging.

Christmas Crafts: Crape paper Wreath

Make a Christmas wreath using crape paper.  I like to make Christmas crafts that are easy for toddlers to do.
To make this Christmas wreath craft you will need the following:
Materials:
·         Paper plate of desired size
·         Crape papers- Light green and dark green
·         Glue
·         Coloured ribbon
·         Pompoms
Tools:
Pencil
Scissors
Method:
1.      Cut the center of the paper plate.
2.      Make a whole bunch of squares by cutting the crape papers into squares of 3”by 3”.
3.      Put the glue all around the paper plate.
4.      Take a piece of crape paper. Fold it in half and again into square.
5.       Open it and press down the center with your fingers.
6.      Stick the center of the crape paper on the paper plate.
7.      Cover the plate all the way round.
8.      Tie a bow with the red ribbon and cut the edges.
9.      Glue it either on the top or bottom of the wreath and ornament it with pompoms.
10. Staple fabric ribbon at the back of the wreath for hanging.

Christmas Crafts: Tree with circle cutouts

Make a Christmas tree with circle cutouts.  I like to make Christmas crafts that are easy for toddlers to do.
To make this Christmas tree craft you will need the following:
Materials:
·         Cone shaped party hat
·         Kitchen paper roll
·         Colored papers- Light green, dark green, red and brown
·         Chart paper (thick) - Green
·         Transparent tape
·         Glue
·         Craft Sequins – star shape or pom poms
·         Bowl
·         Artificial clay
Tools:
Scissors
Method:
1.      Cut out circles from light green and dark green construction paper. You can take the help of a circle puncher. I prefer doing it with my own hands.  

2.      Make a whole bunch of circles. I can’t tell you the exact amount of circles to be made.  First make 70- 80 pieces of different sized circles, then if you need more you can always make afterwards.

3.      Make a Cone– shaped Party Hat using thick chart paper.

4.      Put glue only on the top of the circle and stick the first circle in such a way that it doesn't cross the edge of the cone.

5.       Stick the next circle slightly overlapping the first one.

6.      Continue doing until you go all around the bottom.

7.      For the second layer, stick the circles slightly higher and in between two circles of the first layer.

8.      Do the same thing until the whole cone is covered.

9.      Next, roll the kitchen paper roll with brown construction paper and glue the kitchen paper roll with the brown paper.

10. Put glue at one of the open end of the kitchen roll and place it inside the circles covered cone. Let it dry for some time.

11. To help the tree stand up use a small pot or bowl. Fill it with artificial clay and set the tree right in it.


12. Once the tree is done, put a star on the top of the tree and use sequins or tiny pompoms to decorate it.
